// EDGE VERIFICATION FOR TRADERS

Put your trading ideas on trial.
Then strike.

You have setups you believe in — a level that "always holds," a pattern that "works." But belief isn't edge. TickerStrike tells you whether your setup actually has one — measured against a fair baseline, tested on data you didn't get to cherry-pick, with the answer locked in before we look.

// THE PROBLEM

Every backtest you've ever run has lied to you

📸

Screenshots lie

A chart screenshot is a sample size of one — the winner you remembered. Nobody keeps score of the setups that quietly didn't work.

🎈

"It bounced" means nothing

Sure, price bounced after your level — but everything bounced in an up market. Did it bounce more than a random price? You never checked. Almost nobody does.

🎨

Backtests are decoration

TradingView and Excel let you tweak the rules on the same chart you're fitting to, until the equity curve looks beautiful. That's not a test.

🧠

Hindsight rigs the game

The result: you can't tell your real edges from your comforting stories. And you're risking money on both.

// WHY TRUST THE VERDICT

Built like a trial, not a highlight reel

A fair baseline

Every result is measured against a random comparable trade — so the market drifting your way can never masquerade as skill.

🔒

Locked before the reveal

The rule is committed in writing before the out-of-sample data is touched. No moving goalposts, no p-hacking.

🔭

Tested on unseen data

The verdict lands on a period never used to build the idea — including markets that didn't flatter it.

🛡

Skeptical by default

It assumes your idea is worthless and tries to kill it. If it survives that, it's worth something. You get a range, not one seductive number.

// HOW A TRIAL WORKS

From belief to verdict

  1. 01

    Bring a belief

    A level, a pattern, a filter — any setup you think has edge.

  2. 02

    Lock the rule

    Your setup is pre-registered in plain terms before the data reveal.

  3. 03

    Stand trial

    Thousands of instances, judged against a matched random baseline, then confirmed out-of-sample.

  4. 04

    Strike

    Edge, no edge, or not enough evidence — in plain reward:risk and win rate, honest caveats attached.

// PROOF IT WORKS

It finds real edges — and kills the myths

Found

On 5 years of real data across a basket of large-caps: price-level "runner" setups carried a +0.18R edge per trade over a fair baseline — confirmed on unseen data, holding through the 2022 bear market.

Killed

In the same breath it debunked tempting ideas that turned out to be nothing: stacking levels for "confluence," selling premium at levels, a time-of-day filter that was just noise.

🔍

Catches its own mistakes

A "90% win rate" that was a data leak. "11,000 trades" that were really 389 after de-duplication. A tool that only ever finds winners is lying to you — this one reports its failures out loud.

// FAQ

Questions, answered

What is TickerStrike?

A research platform that puts your trading ideas on trial — testing whether your setups carry a real, measurable edge against fair baselines and data they've never seen — so you can determine when and where is the right place to strike using a targeted plan with surgical precision.

Is this a signal service?

No. TickerStrike won't tell you what to buy this morning. It answers one question, well: does this belief have a measurable, trustworthy edge? What you do with the verdict is your call.

Is TickerStrike a broker? Does it place trades?

No. TickerStrike is a research and analysis tool. It tells you whether your setup is real — execution happens at your broker of choice.

Who is it for?

Retail traders who want to reality-check the setups they see on YouTube and Twitter before risking a dollar — skepticism as a service, in plain English. And quants who want a methodologically correct pre-registration, matched-null, out-of-sample harness without building it themselves.

What if my setup turns out to have no edge?

That's a win too. The engine assumes every idea is worthless and tries to kill it — most don't survive. Knowing which of your beliefs are myths is worth as much as confirming the real ones, because it's the myths that cost you money.

Is this investment advice?

No. TickerStrike tests your own research and ideas. Nothing on the platform constitutes investment advice, and trading involves risk.
